Compressors
The A/C Compressor is the heart of the car air conditioning system. The Compressor is responsible for pumping refrigerant through the various components.
Causes for failure:
Age and wear and tear.
Evaporators
The evaporator is a heat exchanger located in the vehicles dashboard. When cabin air is blown through the evaporator fins it provides cold air to the vents in the dash.
Causes for failure:
Leaking caused by corrosion and porosity or external fin blockage
Condenser
The A/C Condenser is a large heat exchanger (like a radiator) The A/C refrigerant is pumped through the condenser to remove heat and cause refrigerant to condense back into a liquid.
Causes for failure:
Fractures and damage, external and internal blockages.
TX Valves
The TX Valve is a meter, which adjusts the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator.
Causes for failure:
Sticking or jamming open or shut, leaking at the housing or sensing bulb.
Cabin Pollen Filter
Cabin pollen filters are fast becoming standard fitments to common vehicles. Changing the cabin filter will help reduce cabin smells and reduce the occurrence of itchy eyes caused by trapped pollen that has gained access through the air intake vents.
Cabin Vent & Fan Speed Controls

A/C Pressure Hoses
Cool Air Capalaba fabricate and install A/C Hi Pressure Hoses.
Causes for failure:
Age, fatigue, perishing due to high pressure, high under bonnet temperatures and having to absorb vibration. Hoses can leak and even burst if left when cracks start appearing.
Heaters
Like your engines cooling system radiator, the heater core can suffer some of the same issues. If the heater core becomes clogged with rust or sludge, you will no longer have warm air. Also leaks can cause cabin vents to blow white steam, which can fog up your windows. If you smell the sweet aroma of coolant when your heater is on, chances are, you have a leak in the heater core, which will need repairing.
